Five Tips for an Effective Brochure Design
July 1, 2008
The design is an important element in any kind of advertisement that you use for your business. Such purpose has a specific goal that you must meet in order for you to say that you have succeeded in your venture.
Let us focus on one type of marketing material, the brochures. If you are going to utilize such tool, you must have an aim in mind on how do you want to use it and for what purpose. The quality of brochures that are being processed by Digital Room can be used for other functions like as flyer, pamphlet, hand-out, newsletter, menu and a lot more depending on you.

If you are going to use your brochures for marketing purposes, here are some tips to help you go by the process smoothly.
1. Be careful with your words.
In the early days of advertising, when the business claims they are the best, people will easily believe that they really are. But through the years, many companies claim that they are the also the best. As a result, people develop more and more doubts to the different claims that are being made commercially.
You have to determine what those overused words are and try your best not to use it on your tools. To start with, do not tell people that you are the best unless you have a proof or a certificate given by a credible organization that you really are. Do not claim that you are giving out your products for free when in fact you will only give out a small item in exchange of a purchase.
You should focus more on what benefits the client will gain upon getting your services. Instead of saying that – ‘Our product can make you slimmer in a matter of days,’ you can shift the focus and say, ‘You will be slimmer in a matter of days after using this product.’ These two seem similar. But the difference is in the matter of focus. The second one placed importance first on the client then on to the product.
So in using words, be careful with what words you will use for your tools and how are you going to write your message.
2. Avoid using ALL CAPS.
Yes, you want to be noticed. You want to get attention. But using the all caps key will not get you anywhere. It is really in the matter of how you say things more than how you write them.
3. Company history
This can be included in your brochures. Just make sure that it is brief. You can show a picture of your office or the location where the products are being made. But avoid using pictures of your staff. Just do so if there is a clamor for such.
4. Feature warranty, guarantee and product testimonials from known persons or the clients who have already tried what you are offering.
5. Get the services of the right printing company.
And this is where Digital Room can help you with. When you had your brochures done at this company, you are assured of the high quality. And it offers a lot more than brochures. This is a trusted name for other top of the line materials like business cards, postcards and the likes, and even large format ones like posters, banners and a lot more.
