Score More Regulars with Captivating Brochure Copy
July 8, 2009
Print brochures can be your customers’ tour guide to your hotel even before they set eyes on the place themselves. Your brochure copy has to captivate them enough to book a reservation, like a charming tour guide. Aside from making sure your brochure text is readable, check out these copywriting tips to convert people into regular hotel guests.
Captivate Hotel Regulars with Well-Written Brochures
Eliminate Decision Making
Talk like there’s no room for argument, because there shouldn’t be. Show a strong face to your customers. Don’t use the words “if” and “maybe” in your folded brochures. Never ask open-ended questions.
Assume that they’re going to be sold over to what you’re offering sooner or later. Phrase your rhetorical questions so the only answer is yes – yes for your hotel, your services, and your business.
Highlight Features with Benefits
Interest your customers. Tell them how your features can be good for them. Tell them that halogen lighting gives their rooms a warm and cozy feel, and the second phone in the bathroom can also call the hotel desk directly so they don’t have to inconvenience themselves. Just telling them the features as is can leave them clueless about what they’re for – and not all of them will feel like asking.
Talk Conversationally
Keep a professional tone that’s jargon-free and not stiff. Talk as clearly and simply as a schoolteacher, but as casually and candidly as a friend. Try imagining that you’re addressing the copy to your best customer.
Say your drafts out loud to check if they’re understood easily and casually professional. Make your copy sound exciting and inviting to people from all walks of life, so that your color brochure prints can be the ticket for them to walk through your front doors.
